March 29 2022 Handover of 2 loan MAN TGE Van for the journey to Moldova and Poland over the next month to deliver some hope and comfort to displaced people from Ukraine terrorised by a Menace in Moscow. Kevan Ball and Dennis Evans are co-ordinators of transport, logistics and delivery arrangements for the urgently needed aid parcels collected by the Carterton Aid collection point at the Carterton leisure centre supported by RAF Brize Norton.

The number of displaced Ukrainians fleeing to Moldova, one of the poorest countries in Europe has reached 400,000 increasing the population by 20%. Carterton Aid Drop-Off Centre, sponsored by Oxford District Council and supported massively by personnel from RAF Brize Norton want to send urgently need aid they have collected, sorted and packed to the International Red Cross in Chisinau

We have two 3.5 tonne vans ready to depart but need funds for fuel, motorway tolls and driver accommodation for the 3,200 mile return journey required. Estimated cost per journey is c. £1500, and we aim to initially undertake 6 trips for each van and require c. £18,000 in support funds.

By the 14th April we have made two visits to Lublin in Poland to deliver vital aid including Tinned & Dry Food, Toiletries, Feminine Hygene and Baby products. In addition we secured 250 beds and mattresses from the UK Nightingale Hospital store and delivered to the University campus of Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, Karpatska street, 15, Ukraine. We also delivered beds and mattresses to a church in Lidington Wiltshire for a family of 17 who recently arrived from Ukraine.
