Denz's story is a sad one - he was rushed into the vets having been dosed in petrol and about to be burnt alive by some kids. Thankfully a member of the public saw what was about to happen and rescued him just in time. He still however suffered terribly as the petrol was absorbed through his skin and began to poison and burn him.

He was rushed to the vets who did their best to get the petrol out of his fur but he was a very sick boy and it was touch and go whether he would pull through...

It totally breaks my heart looking at these pics and seeing what an awfully traumatic time he went through. His liver was initially damaged from petrol poisoning but it is an amazing organ and with the help of the right medication it has repaired itself - thanks to Redditch Cat rescue who funded his treatment, and the amazing veterinary team at Stetchford Vets4Pets Denzil has now fully recovered from his terrible ordeal.

He had to have a large amount of his fur shaved off and he did look a real sorry state when he was well enough to come out of the vets.

My part is towards the end of his journey - as he came into foster care with me as a favour to a friend but so far we've not had any luck in finding him his forever home because in amongst all his blood tests it was discovered he was FIV+ - which means he cannot go back to living as a free roaming cat.and that is making it harder to find his 'Happy Ever After'.

Denz is just the most loving and trusting boy despite all he has been through and I just can't bring myself to rehome him as indoor only when I can see how much he loves to be out in the fresh air ....so we have been trying to find him a home with a cat proofed garden or a safe enclosed 'catio' like he has here with me in his foster home.

Its proving hard to find as often people don't want a big upfront cost when they rehome a cat so I am hoping that if I can raise money for a catio it will help us to find the purrfect home for him.

Denz is actually more like a dog than a cat - he is a big solid boy, who has learnt in foster care just how great toys and playtime are, as well as cuddles, and given the chance I think he would follow me all around the house - BUT as you can see from these pics he adores being outside in the fresh so if anyone can spare a few pounds to help this lovely lad have the most wonderful new life that he deserves then please please donate :-)
