Husband and father of three, Derek Blackshaw, 46 was tragically taken from us on Friday 1st October 2021 after being struck by a car in Morrisons car-park, Cardonald while making his way home to his family.

A 17 year old has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.

Derek leaves behind his wife Angie and three beautiful children Callum, Faith and Grace. This devastating news has left a hole within this close-knit family that will never be filled. Derek was the rock within his home and a true inspiration to others.

It was clear his role in life was to be an incredible husband and father and that he truly accomplished.

Derek was a spirit in the community and his endless work with Cartha Queens Park RFC U18's will always be remembered for his service.

Derek was a father figure to my younger sister and I throughout our childhood and he was always there for us. Derek and his wife Angie were role-models to us and gave us hope when we needed it most. I will forever grateful to these beautiful people.

No amount of fundraising will ever lessen the impact brought upon this wonderful family however we can do our best to help as a community, just like Derek would have done for any one of us.
