Help Us Raise £6,000 for an Accessible Sailability Boat at Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club
We're raising £6,000 to fund a new Sailability boat at Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club—and we need your help.
Sailability makes sailing accessible to everyone, regardless of physical or cognitive ability. With your support, we can purchase a specially adapted boat that will open the water to people with accessibility needs—whether they’re complete beginners or experienced sailors.
The new boat will:
Provide safe, stable access to the water for sailors with disabilities as well as different levels of confidence in the water. For people of all ages, neurodiversity, people wity physical needs or learning didabilities.
Be used by club members, visitors, and local community groups
Help us expand inclusive sailing opportunities in the North East
Why it matters:
Sailing is not just a sport—it's freedom, independence, and confidence. For many, this boat will be their first chance to experience that feeling.
We're proud of our growing Sailability programme at Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club, but we need this dedicated boat to make sure no one is left ashore.
