Developers In Vogue aims to improve gender equality in technology in Africa with innovative coding boot camps for ambitious women.
We are seeking kind donations, volunteers and mentors to launch our first coding boot camp. See http://www.developersinvogue.org for more details.
Inadequate number of women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) roles is a crucial problem for any country that aims at accelerating Science and Technology advancement in order to achieve the sustainable development goals. In a typical Engineering class at Kwame Nkrumah University in Ghana, females represent less than 10% of class size. However, females make up more than 50% of the population of most African countries and have a great opportunity to play a vital role in the development of products and services. To do more, we need more hands! This is a major reason why we need women to be involved in STEM; this view has been reinforced by our research. People have so far shown strong support for engaging with Developers In Vogue as they know that they will be empowering women.
We aim at training at least 300 ladies in software development, data science and digital marketing in the next 5 years. Our coding boot camps will bring ambitious women together in a supportive environment to learn innovative software development, data science and digital marketing.
With £2,000 we will be able to train and support 20 ladies. See more about our team here: https:www.developersinvogue.org
Our vision is to shape a world where more African ladies will be daring enough to lead in STEM.
