Story

On 31 May 2018 Dev Naran was tragically killed in a car accident. Dev was 8 years old and a pupil in Year 3 at Stoneygate School. Dev had been at Stoneygate for a little over a year, but in that time he left a lasting impression on all those who knew him – his fellow pupils, their parents and the staff alike.

Dev was full of joy and delighted in the people around him. He was extremely bright, academically gifted and a talented sportsman. But his greatest gift was his kindness and his ability to look within people and see the best in them.

Dev was an avid gardener, he loved being outside and was the best at climbing trees. Losing Dev hit the school very hard; the grief was huge and the void he left behind unfillable. He will never be forgotten and we must make sure that the happy memories we made with him live on.

Stoneygate School is fundraising to build something permanent and wonderful to remember the joyful and happy boy Dev was. Together we plan to raise £10,000 to build a tree house – ‘Dev’s Treehouse’ – in the school grounds. This is something we know he would have loved and enjoyed. Dev’s Treehouse will provide our children with a special place to come and play and remember their amazing friend Dev.

Your support and kind donations are really appreciated.
