I've raised £4000 to help the victims of the Kerala Floods in Idukki district via the Indian John Pennycuick Charitable Trust

I was in Kerala and then the Tamil Nadu border of Kerala in August when the floods killed over 400 people and left thousands of others stranded.
I helped a small group of volunteers from Tamil Nadu transport food and clothing across the border, which was treacherous due to road collapses from mud slides. Speaking to those in one of the worst affected areas of Idukki, they reported that there have been issues getting any aid to the area due to the conditions, and many people are marooned in the area with little to no supplies.
The John Pennycuick Charitable Trust was recently set up by Santhana Beer Oli from Theni district in memory of my great great uncle who built the Mullaperiyar Dam. Helping the kerala flood victims in Idukki District is one of its first tasks. This charity was able to help with direct flood relief on the ground in Kerala.
