Story
Our dog Typhoon fell ill on the morning of 24th of October 2016, he had been sick and lost the use of his back legs.
He has been in the vets ever since. He is making very slow progress that has resulted in high vet costs.
We don't want to find ourselves having to give him up because we can't afford his bill.
For a long time the vet's didn't know what was making him so unwell, but it turns out somehow he has had mercury poisoning. After speaking to neighbors we found out he was the third dog to come down with these symptoms,
It turns out that The Mercury poisoning is from the ground of the local gated dog park we use to let him have a good run around, and although the other dogs made a full recovery, our dog has been the worst affected.
We have already paid in excess of £400 towards his bills but with no coming home date. We are worried the bills will spiral out of control.
He is now on the mend after a week and a half but in need of lots of physiotherapy because he has muscle wastage from not using his legs.
The vets are hopeful that with physio he will make a full recovery.
Anyone who meets him gets hit with the tyhoon of hyper love and happiness currently we feel lost without him and the idea that he is like this because of mercury poisoning is very distressing for us as a family and for him.
He just wants to come home please help us get him home.
Anything extra that doesn't go to his bills will be donated to the Celia Hammond trust.

8 years agoThis smile is to say thankyou for everyone who has helped me get home to be able to bug my family. I'm loving being home but I do miss all the nice people at the vet and my cat friends who were waiting for furever homes with Celia Hammond trust. I do hope that they all find pawsome familys. I would like a cat brother or sister but my mummies say If I stay the only furbaby in our home it means I don't have to share the loves and I will have all the loves. Which means i donts have to share treats thats good by me. Lots of licks and snuggles.

His muscle is building slowly infact he is doing better than we expected he has had some incontinence issues but hopefully that is behind us, of course he knows how to get attention this morning while watching a youtube video he nosed the xbox and turned it off lol. Overall he's enjoying cuddles, kisses and being home.

He may have a limp permanently.

Poor chap, but what a handsome boy he is. Sorry this isn't more, but I can't work as I have fibromyalgia & I'm pretty broke! But I'd give my last penny to help a needy dog. Get well soon Typhoon! xx

Typhoon came to live with our family on a temporary basis which became permanent when he was facing being placed in a shelter just over 3 years ago now. He lives up to his name he is a big hyper whirlwind furball of love and happiness to anyone he meets.
