I am running in the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2026. After taking up running just under a year ago, literally going from couch to 10k in the six weeks leading up to Leeds 10k in June. I've continued to try and push myself further since then, and ran an unofficial Half Marathon just after Christmas to see if I could do it! I decided to enter the full Leeds Marathon as what's the point in doing something by half right?! I'd love to be able to raise funds for some causes close to mine and my families hearts along the way!

Firstly, I'd like to raise money towards my local rugby league club, Stanningley. I've been involved with them since I was 11 years old and the sense of community and companionship is something that has been with me throughout. They came into financial difficulties towards the back end of last year and I would like to give something back so that they may continue to give young children what they have given me for the last 25 years.

Secondly, I'm raising money for ZigZag Leeds Autism Support Group. As a parent of an autistic child, I know the struggles that both children and parents can face and feel that the work that they do to help and support them is invaluable. They are a small charity here in Leeds, but the work they do is huge and I'd love to help them.

And last but not least, Leeds Hospitals Charity. We all know someone who has recieved some form of care in either the LGI or St James'. The work that the charity do to support patients and families in Leeds and Yorkshire is monumental by funding, life saving equipment, treatments, research into rare diseases and home comforts amongst more. I'd love to be able to do my bit to help them too.
