Story
Alexandra Dock, Grimsby, Home of the Grimsby and Cleethorpes Water Rats!
These "water rats" have a chilling mission ahead of them as they set out to swim daily in Alexandra Dock, raising funds for our rescue during the cold winter month of December.
A Spokesperson for the water rats, Tim Fletcher had this to say about the upcoming event:
This is the Grimsby and Cleethorpes Water Rats Open Water Swimming Club’s annual December Dip-A-Day for a local charity or community organisation.
We will be swimming every day in December, with most members swimming in just a swim suit, in Alexandra Dock South near Corporation Bridge. The water temperature is already below 10 degrees and will only get colder. So all those participating will be ‘Freezin for a Reason’! Hopefully, we will raise as much as we can for the Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue and any support you can give will be greatly appreciated.
If you can help these fundraising stars meet their goal and swim the icy cold waters on your behalf, please donate now!
Thank you from both Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue and the Grimsby and Cleethorpes Water Rats!
Update: Thank you all so much for your support! Thanks to you the water rats have reached their first target of £1,000, they're now heading for their next... Can they make it £2,000? <3
