I've raised £10000 to Support the families affected by the tragic and devastating Distington House Fire.

On the 22nd May 2022 the news broke throughout the community of Distington and West Cumbria of a house fire that tragically took the lives of a father and his teenage daughter Paul Scott (58) and Mia Scott (14) and their family dog Ged. Leaving behind a devastated wife and mother Caroline, we can't begin to imagine what she must be going through. In its wake the fire has destroyed the family home and caused severe damage to the terraced houses either side. In a show of support to those affected by this tragic event we aim to raise at least £10'000. We believe that if this fundraising makes even the tiniest bit of difference in the coming months then we MUST, because we can. There is a lot of comfort to be gained from a community that can come together in these times of need and show that we truly care 💙❤️
Updated....
Soon after the tragic loss of Archie and Mia Scott Distington Rugby league's former player and outstanding servant Willy Cunningham decided he wanted to complete a challenge in their memory. Willy will cycle 13 miles followed by running 13 miles on Saturday 11th June, starting from his home in Salterbeck north to Flimby and loop back.
Willy has never forgotten the generosity of the West Cumbrian people when his family where left in a similar situation loosing his younger brother Stephen in a tragic house fire.
Willy has said if this challenge brings even a small amount of strength and comfort to Caroline and the family and helps in the fundraising efforts its the very least he can do, 💙❤️
