Story

Thanks for visiting my crowdfunding page.

From May until the end of the year, I’ll be running one long race a month to fundraise for two causes. Each race will be at least a half-marathon and will include a 100km ultra-marathon on 23rd June.

I’ve chosen to fundraise for Student Minds, the UK’s student mental health charity. I’ll also be raising money to buy sleeping bags for homeless people in London, to help them through the winter months.

I’ll be accepting donations via this page until the end of 2018.

So far I have two confirmed races:

- May: Hackney Half Marathon - 19 May. Distance 21km.

- June: Vitosha 100km - 23 June. Distance 100km.

- July: Self organised run in Cambridge with Run Dem Crew - 29 July. Distance 26.5km

- August: TRIBE South Coast Ultra Run - 18 August. Distance 28mile (45km)

- September: Reebok Ragnar Relay White Cliffs - 22-23 Sept (~21miles)

- October: Budapest Marathon Relay - 07 October. Distance 21km

- November: TBA

- December: Valencia Marathon - 02 December. 42km

I will be adding more races as they are confirmed. If there isn't a suitable race I will do it on my own in the streets of London/UK. Fellow runners more than welcome to join. You can follow my Strava page for updates on my runs.

Why am I doing this?

Student Minds is the official charity partner of the company I work for, Student.com, and money raised through this crowdfunding page will help support them transform the state of student mental health in the UK. Student Minds works with students, service users, professionals and academics to develop new and innovative ways to improve the mental health of students. Mental Health is something I am deeply concerned about. More and more young people suffer from mental health issues. We all have friends or family members who have been affected in one or another way. Doing this challenge is my small contribution to addressing this big problem.

I live in one of the most amazing cities in the world - London. A city of incredible history, diversity and opportunities. Walking on the streets of the place I now call home often fills my eyes with tears when I see people sleeping rough, trying to survive in conditions which I don’t think I could. Last winter was particularly harsh. With the money raised I will personally buy sleeping bags and give to people in need. The sleeping bags will be donated around Christmas-time. Anyone willing to help will be more than welcome. Receipts of all purchases will be uploaded to this page.

The money raised via this page will be split 50/50 between the two causes.

Finally, I would like to take the opportunity to personally thank you for your kind contribution. Your donations will really make a difference!
