Story
Adam ‘Doddy’ Dodd has been a stalwart of the FC starting line-up since he joined the club in 2019, making 99 appearances in three seasons. Know for his legendary workrate, his knack of chipping in with some thunderbolts for goals, then his Connor McGregor goal celebration, you’d have expected him to have been one of the first on the plane to Rimini, but while the team prepared to compete for the Fenix Trophy Final, he was in hospital in Blackpool
In the early hours of the 3rd June his girlfriend was woken by the sound of him gasping, he had had a cardiac arrest and it was only because she performed CPR on him until the paramedics arrived that he stood any chance of survival, even when they arrived it was still very much in the balance whether he would survive, and if so, would he be brain damaged in some way through lack of oxygen.
Fortunately due to the stars aligning for him, and the brilliance and bravery of the many people who took him from the brink of death back to where he is now, he has a chance to get back to where he was, where we all remember him for his lung-busting runs up and down that left wing.
Unfortunately as a self-employed plumber, he is now without an income as he faces several months of recovery including a surgery to fit a defibrillator, the hardship of the recuperation period will be tough enough without him having to also worry about covering the essential bills.
So if you are able, please could you chip in a few quid - every pound will help as we try support Doddy as much off the pitch as we do on it.
