What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Read below about the highs and lows from the original days (at the bottom and plan A) - right through to now and Plan C..

We have recently updated the target amount again as Plan B is complete and we are well on our way to achieving PLAN C!!!!! Pics will be added when we can.

Still under wraps, (due to us losing out on the other site after a lot of hard work) but soon we will hopefully obtaining our SECOND SITE!!!!

We need help to buy the site. We successfully completed plan B with donations from people coming here, donations from local firms eg. AGP Play with all the fake grass, a couple of local grants eg. Tesco bags for life grant, and mainly many of our loyal and incredible supporters have been buying things from our Amazon wish-list so the total showing on here is still in the pot for the ultimate dream - PLAN C!!!

Please keep sharing and lets help us get this new place so we can save thousands more dogs. It's not going to be fancy like dogs trust or anything but realistic and based on the model we have achieved here only much better.... I know, hard to believe eh!

Previous UPDATE (Summer 2018)

Plan B is now in place - renovating the current site with new fencing, for the dogs safety and the new adventure playground will be constructed.

The place will be kitted out for maximum stimulation for the dogs but also with cameras so that you guys can keep an eye on the dogs you are helping to support. Watch them at play, resting, get to know them better. In a big brother style UK first we want to help spread the word of how rescues could be run by allowing behind the scenes access. Dogs in their natural packs.

Please share this page with everyone you know - we will be updating with pictures as we go.

This place will be the sanctuary for all those who may never get their homes, the oldies, the feral dogs who are not ready for homing and all those who need some more training before they can be placed. It will be offering "Rescue Therapy" in many forms and to many people. We will keep you posted. Many, many plans, we just need the funds to make the dream the reality for these guys and then continue saving as many dogs as.....

Plan C will be following Plan B....

Previous UPDATE (5th May 2018.....Plan A)

As you know we have spent 18 months on the project to get ourselves our new home.

It came to light a few weeks ago that the site we were trying to buy has been sold to someone else. Having been through this roller-coaster before we didn’t want to say anything initially as we wondered if it may come back round again, like last time, but it seems not.

It has been a huge blow after all the hard work, time and work that has gone into this project not just us but our wonderful Euan, Kelly and Nicky team who have battled planning and overcome all the obstacles. They all feel it and I know you will all too, having supported, donated and followed us through this journey.

We have spent the weeks searching for alternative premises. Sadly, they are either too far away or too expensive. So, unless anyone knows of anything coming up locally or are willing to let us use/rent any land that you own, we will revert to our Plan B.

We are going to make the current site into the Dream Rescue. We are going to extend and invest your money to redesign and revolutionise the facilities. The massive bonus of this plan is that we already have funds to get started with and it will be much less expensive than the £100K fit-out that we were hoping to be able to raise to do up the new site.

In addition to the original plans, we are looking to invest in new technologies with the possibility of being able to log in to the rescue from work or home to watch the dogs/ animals on cameras situated throughout the rescue, Big Brother style, instead of having to wait for us to update with snapshots of the day.

We are really excited about the prospect of becoming more of an “online rescue” as it would be a first for any rescue and would allow people to see dogs interacting with others and people to help them assess behaviour and suitability for potential adopters. We also could envisage many more people rescuing and “trusting” rescue dogs, as they would be able to see how wonderful and social these dogs are.

So much goes on here every day that we never get to capture, you never know we may end up with our own TV channel. This can all only be very good for our mission of changing the face of dog rescue and inspiring others to copy. But this is a new idea and one which we are just starting to investigate.

We have waited long enough to get this dream going so we have already started with Plan B by moving the horses to nearby grazing. This frees up nearly 2 acres of our land in which to start building our dream. Just as we were planning, we will start with the fit-out here, DIY SOS style.

The issue we have is that the current site is in the greenbelt and is subject to planning permission. This means that nothing is straight forward and is one of the reasons we hadn’t tried this initially. So, we are once again in need of assistance from our fantastic supporters Euan and Kelly Kellie for expert help with this.

The long-term dream of having a huge sanctuary is still alive and, through the success of plan B, we could then build something massive and bespoke in the future. This apparent setback has actually given us a chance to regroup and think outside the box. What we have come up with, we think, is a tremendous opportunity and when we do get another site it will be bigger and better than ever.

We hope you will all continue to support us in this mission. We will be documenting things as we go along. Things can get moving now and it's very exciting. We can’t wait to be able to share it with you so if anyone know any tradesmen who are available to help with the transformation please tag or ask them to give us a call. All trades will be needed and we want to line people up ready. We will be getting media coverage as we go along so there will be opportunities for firms to get any generosity publicised and we are going to make this development big news.

Of course, anyone who would like their donations back, instead, this is no problem at all we just need you to let us know when you paid and the name and we can easily refund this from the JustGiving page or the bank / Paypal where required. We hope of course that you stay with us on this as what we plan to deliver is going to be hugely exciting and innovative.

The dismay has turned into a huge buzz around here now and the dogs can feel it too.

We have had huge support from one of our adopters David, who owns MKM Building Supplies, and has sorted us out with a contact for our first job – Fencing!!! How exciting!

We thank you all for your patience. We had gone quiet because we didn’t want to announce anything before we were certain. We are huge believers in things happening for a reason though and are certain that we will end up being bigger and stronger than ever.

Any questions please just shout.

Em, Lou and the whole team including all furries and farmies. xxx

Why support us?

• We are the first of its kind in the UK, a free running Dog rescue who have rescued nearly 1000 dogs in 4 years .... we do everything for the dogs most in need, saving as many lives as we can.

• Dogs4Rescue is a registered Community Interest Company. It is a social enterprise which uses donated profits from Daycare 4Dogs and animal loving members of the public to carry out its vital work to save dogs and fine new homes for them. We have never received any government or any other kind of funding.

• We have created a new demand for rescue dogs and seen those who would not usually choose to rescue become huge advocates for what we do.

• We are completely different to any other rescue. We don’t use kennels, we rehome (suitable dogs) with families, including those with children, we rehome to people who work full time and we can also help provide the care dogs need through our Daycare 4 Dogs centre, at a discounted rate (encouraging people to rescue and increasing our customer base to support the rescue).

• Our dogs are social, assessed and we provide lifetime backup unlike most. We have dogs of all ages, size, breed, colour, coat type, those good with cats and other animals and we match those most suitable depending upon people’s family arrangements, other pets, work commitments and energy levels.

• We will change the image of a dog rescue centre from one of a depressing, desolate place full of kennels of despair, to a happy, welcoming place where dogs enjoy exercise, love and warmth in abundance.

• Dogs don’t need to be lonely and scared while waiting for their homes, developing issues and being confined to prison-like cells. Dogs in our rescue live happily whether their forever home comes up quickly or not.

• We don’t choose to help the easy to rehome dogs but instead help those we can and those most in need. We take from UK pounds where dogs are on death row, we also help street dogs from overseas and those in mass pounds who stand no chance of making it.

• Our dogs have promoted us. They are our best advert. Friends and families of those who have rescued from us now flock to us and this will only continue to increasing at speed.

• Be a part of the first rescue of the future.

Our dream for the rescue centre involves;

• Securely fencing the 2 acres.

. Landscaping the fields to ensure all year play park for the dogs free from mud and with equipment to keep them happy, stimulated and well exercised.

• Fitting out the group doggie rooms and play areas inside with hygienic, safe flooring and sleep areas.

• Installing a wet room for their grooming and feeding stations.

• Providing areas to watch them in their natural environment and to learn about them and other dogs that we are on a mission to help.

• Running educational programmes for schools

Please donate ... help us make history.

Plan A (Now Obsolete) ...

We achieved what they said couldn’t be done. We successfully developed and pioneered the UK's first kennel-free, group dog rescue. In the 4 years we have been running we have saved almost 1000 dogs .... So what next??

For a long time it has been apparent that we need an actual rescue centre to be able to save more dogs, to function more effectively and to make a real difference to revolutionising the rescue world. The rescue has outgrown our home here. We need somewhere with a car park for visitors, volunteers and dedicated areas for people to spend quality time with the dogs. We want people to be able to get involved and enjoy the experience while learning more about what we do and helping to save dogs.

The goal is to purchase a building with 4 acres of land, perfect from which to be able to run the rescue! We need to raise funds to purchase the building and fit it out and undertake ground works to the dog park to make it fully functional and ready for use. This is a £400,000 project. We have financing for £200,000 but we need a further £200,000 to make it happen.

We have never received any funding or help from any government body or any of the bigger rescues. Everything we have done so far has been through the profits of our Daycare 4 Dogs business which solely funds the rescue and the mini fundraisers that we have run along the way.

We have big dreams, we want to be able to run events and for families and their dogs to be a part of what we are doing. We want to save many thousands of dogs, not just hundreds of dogs each year and make a huge difference, not just a small one. We want to continue our mission to revolutionise the dog rescue world in the UK by showing how things can be done.

Please help by donating any amount you can.... every little helps as they say.

Donate £20 and "buy a brick" for the yellow brick road of the dog park...... or donate £100 to get you, or your pets', name on a plaque on the centre's wall when we open. We are grateful of any and all donations so donate now and help us achieve the rescue of all of our dreams.

Thank you,

Em, Lou and all the helpers and doggies at Dogs 4 Rescue

Over £10k raised in just weeks - thanks to you all! I can't tell you what it means. We know the target seems far away but every £1 that comes in shows people care & want to help make this happen - it means everything. Every message you sent is read & appreciated. We will get there - it's just a matter of time. It's hard to support in the early days when the target is far away but you guys are making this happen. £50k has also been generously donated into the bank so have reduced the target by £50k instead Thank you so much everyone xx

The interior and 3D images are through showing the internal layout including meeting rooms, doggie bathing areas and feeding stations. Hopefully this will show how it could look when finished and give people an idea of what we are looking to achieve when we raise enough to get going. We can't wait to get started...
