Hi my name is Ameera Brett. I am local resident of Swansea since 2012. I work as a GP 3 days a week and the rest of the week I am working to get my bew charity “Dogs Roam Free Rescue“ DRFR off the ground. I would describe my self as a compassionate humanist. I believe we have a lot more similarities as human beings than differences, and I extend that same love and compassion to animals, specially to dogs. I love nothing more than helping my patients and support them at their time of need no matter what the problem might be. But whilst I am working away on being the best doctor I can be, juggling a busy life of being a parent with my fiancé Jamie to our almost 2 years old son Oliver and our 8 fur babies 3 dogs and 5 cats; Lexi, Blue, CoCo, Max, Paddy, Nino, Jackson & Shadow, I have a dream. This is a deeply held dream in my heart and mind and it’s to help more animals. Specially dogs. I really believe dogs are very special beings, they are the only creature that would love you more than it loves it self, they are fully present in the moment, so are incredible Mindfullness teachers by default, they are loyal, loves us unconditionally, funny, surprising and I would even say soulful. I am trying to get a brand new free dog roaming rescue centre charity set up in Swansea. In fact we don’t even have one in Swansea to help abandoned, abused and broken hearted dogs from all over the world. I will be doing a 12hours dance challenge on Sat 19 Dec 2020 from 12pm until 12am and also a 24hrs dance challenge on Sat 13 Feb 2021 to raise the money. I am trying to coordinate bringing lots of volunteers together in this project , who are passionate about the welfare of dogs, to help them at a time when animal issues have slipped to the bottom of the agenda when they have only us to help them. I am looking for donations as well offers of skills and time you can spare to help build the centre, I have a piece of land in Morriston where it will be situated. I will need builders, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, dog walkers, sitters, vets ,dog rehabilitation experts who are willing to help in creating this incredie project to life and give back to the many loving and in need dogs.
