Story

A very long bike ride with a twist!

To raise money for Multiple Sclerosis Charities (MS-UK, MS Society and Bike The UK for MS) I've cycled around 500 miles from London to Edinburgh, on my own without support vehicle, stopping off along the way to meet people with MS and deliver 1-2-1 fitness sessions for them.

I grew up with my Mum who had MS. Sadly, I lost her to MS related complications in 2012, but I've been doing my best to help others with MS improve their lives through health and fitness since 2008.

Since then I've seen so many people with MS face incredible challenges so I wanted to put myself through this huge challenge in order to raise funds for multiple sclerosis charities.

I've had some wonderful volunteers along the way, some clients, some people who I've never met, all of whom hosted me for lunch or dinner, and in return I ran through a training sessions or gave them exercise tips to demonstrate ways in which they can exercise safely in their own homes.

The route including home visit points:

It's was a few years since I'd done home visits as my business is entirely remote these days, so it was great to get back in the trenches and see people in the flesh.

It was also over a year since I'd done any cycling so it was an incredibly difficult challenge for me. Injuries, tiredness, pain, and logistical challenges tried to stop me, but I made it through in good time.

I'm glad it's over but I need to keep fundraising to reach my target of £5000!!!
