Story

1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men will become a victim of domestic abuse at some point in their lives, whatever their background. Whether it is physical, sexual, financial or psychological, domestic abuse has devastating and far-reaching effects which can destroy lives. Frighteningly, this could happen to anyone: if not to yourself, it could be to someone you hold dear. Please help me to support those affected in healing themselves through self-empowerment and self-actualisation.

My own experience of Person-Centred counselling enabled me to process not just the abuse and consequent trauma, but also understand the reasons why I became so vulnerable in the first place and how to break my negative thought and behaviour patterns. I found learning about myself through the counselling process to be life-changing, uplifting (though emotional!) and empowering, and I feel extremely passionate about giving something back and helping to support others on their journey.

The money raised will be used for my tuition fees for the two year Person-Centred Counselling Diploma course at Cornwall College. Any contributions - however big or small - would be greatly appreciated as I am unable to take out a student loan or receive funding.

Thank you so much in advance for helping me to help others.
