The Meserani Project was founded around 2004 by the headmaster of a school in Middlesbrough after returning from a school trip to the area. He has subsequently given up his headmastership and has dedicated himself to the Project. It’s primary focus is to provide facilities and sponsorship for a growing number of schools and pupils in the north of Tanzania. Most of the work carried out is done sporadically by a small number of people and our trip is the second time that an official group of people have visited to perform specific tasks over an extended period. We will be primarily installing new solar and water collection systems to improve the living conditions for the teachers who rarely remain at a school if the existing accommodation is below standard. This leads to the schools closing until a new teacher can be found! We'll also be offering basic computer skills training with laptops that have been kindly donated by my company Virgin media. The project is also desperate for pens, scientific calculators & white school shirts so donations can take more than one form. As the project relies solely on donations none of the current staff receive a wage. Everything is done through fundraising and the money goes directly to the project and equipment required to improve conditions.

Our flights are booked for January 5th by which time I need to have raised £1500.00. Any donations will be gratefully received and WILL make a difference.

This is the first time that I've embarked upon such an adventure! I've often thought about oversea's charity work and have decided to put your money where my mouth is. Dig deep friends, these schools need our help to sustain their own education programs.
