In memory of Dominick Naylor

Kevin Naylor's beautiful son Dominick Naylor tragically lost his life on August 31st while he was having a lovely day swimming in the Thames at Walton on Thames with friends. Sadly he got into difficulties and drowned..

Although the loss is devastating, it is something we will have to come to terms with. He will never be forgotten. He was much loved by his family and friends.

The only consolation to this tragedy is the fact his body was located very quickly thanks to a wonderful couple living on the Thames with sonar equipment on their boat. That has given the family some degree of comfort. Unfortunately because fire boats are currently not fitted with sonar it can sometimes take weeks to recover bodies and that is unbearable for families. A speedy recovery could make a difference in so many ways and if we can reach our target, this appeal will make a critical difference to their pain and suffering.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of so many people we have raised £4289 to buy sonars for the Fire and Rescue Service. A little more will pay, not just for more essential recovery equipment, but also work towards preventing such a terrible tragedy from happening again.
