Story
The Rotary Club of Winslow has pledged to raise £32,000 towards the Puzzle Centre's new Outreach Project. The Puzzle Centre is a specialist nursery based near Winslow providing a unique facility for pre-school aged children with autism.
Puzzle wants to establish an Outreach Service to extend the reach and impact of their early intervention model to children and families at home or at school, working with children up to 11 years of age.
I am going to trek to the most iconic base camp of all, at the foot of the greatest mountain in the world, Mount Everest (8848m). This is one of the world's classic treks of 84 miles to the base camp and back, starting on April 2nd for 16 days and it gives me 2 days camping at altitude over 18,000 feet.

5 years agoWell that's it job done back home now what an amazing experience but please do not ask me to do this or similar again ! Thanks so much for all your kind words of support you have no idea what an inspiration this was to me. Everyone in our group came back with a souvenir regrettably I came back with a badly infected finger so spent yesterday in SMH plastics unit having it incised and drained!! We all suffered from the effects of AMS you just can't legislate for it. I lost my appetite completely and as a result I'm now 10lbs lighter. Regards

5 years agoWell , that's the end of my training 300 miles under my belt culminating in a fab 11 mile walk today. Less than a week to go till the trek starts I know I am as fit as I can be now feeling very positive. Again sincere thanks to my fellow Rotarians and everyone who has supported me. BRING IT ON !!!

5 years agoWow pretty nasty weather today whilst walking in the Quainton Hills, overall really pleased with my training . Legs holding up well. Donations are just amazing tremendous inspiration whilst training. Sincere thanks to all. It would be great if we can beat the £4000 marker!
