I've raised £1000 to help support orphans' access to basic life needs; food, school and healthcare for a year!

All over the world there are orphan children who are put in a position where they struggle to access basic life needs such as shelter, food, heating, education and healthcare.
Emdad is a verified national Iranian charity (www.emdad.ir) which supports such orphans. These children can be in orphanages or living with a single parent who is unable to financially support them. With £720 we can support 10 orphans for a whole year; with such support these children can be sheltered, go to school, and have food and access to medical care.
This set-up works by having several sponsors for each orphan and the minimum monthly donation is £6. This can be increased based on the sponsor’s preference. One off donations are also welcome especially during winter and school periods – Donations during these times can go towards providing heaters and revision classes. Currently, due to the high number of orphans, the majority have only one sponsor.
Some of the young orphans in Iran lose their childhood trying to survive by getting caught up in dangerous jobs such as selling items to drivers in traffic. In my opinion every child deserves to be in a safe environment where they can be happy and not worry about where their next meal is coming from.
It’s in the hands, of those who can, to give and give generously to charity, so we can overcome poverty in this world.
