We will never fully know the true extent of the trauma these individuals have been through to arrive here in the UK. We watch the news and see the various images in the newspapers and when we have had enough we can simply change the television channel or fold the newspaper and simply focus on something a little more upbeat, like Christmas. When we think of Christmas we think of celebrating, relaxation, time with loved ones, friends and family – it is a time of reflection. What does an Asylum Seeker have to reflect on? The friend, family or loved one/s they have lost, their home that has been destroyed, the trauma they have suffered and the journey they have endured. Now here they are arriving in the UK with all their belongings – the clothes they are wearing and a few items in a plastic carrier bag.

Your contributions of the following essential items will be welcomed:

Trainers Jogging bottoms Vests Flip flops
Underwear Nappies (3 - 6mths)
Wash bags containing brush/ comb toothbrush & toothpaste

They will receive your gifts on 12th December at a social evening held especially for them. All financial donations made will be given to Migrant Help UK.
