Story
In February 2018, my 12 year old little brother was taken to hospital for an MRI scan after having pains in his lower back and legs. Before getting the MRI scan, Donny was told the pain may be simply growing pains but the results of the scan showed that he had been diagnosed with ewing sarcoma which is a rare form of cancer.
My little brother Donny is the nicest, most caring, thoughtful young boy ever and with the support he has from me, my mum, brothers, grandparents and all our family & friends he has doing so well going through his treatment so far. We are all so proud of him for being strong during this time and going through 5 chemo sessions already.
He is currently just over half way through his 9 chemotherapy sessions and will be going to have surgery to remove the rods from his back and replace them to give better support for when he goes through his radio therapy. When he has recovered from this operation he will continue on with his chemo. He has recently been approved for a new proton treatment in Jacksonville Florida. Once he has successfully completed his chemotherapy and recovered from the operation, he will be going to Jacksonville for 6-8 weeks to continue with the next stage of his treatment. The proton therapy in America is being funded as well as flights for him and my mum however any money raised from this page would massively help go towards living expenses, travel and health insurance for them and being able to turn this experience into something he can look back on with many positive memories.
Thank you x
