I've raised £1500 to Support Homelessness in Manchester. Donations will help to put on screenings & events, create educational resources.

An important campaign aimed at tackling Manchester's most pressing issue, Homelessness. We aim to dispel the myths that the public have about people who are homeless as well as raise awarenes.
We are social enterprise Union Street Media Arts, an independent digital media company in Manchester, renowned for our powerful documentaries. We have been working for the past 3 years on a film highlighting experiences of homeless people in Manchester as well as what is being done about it. We have been working, unpaid to complete this project as we believe it is part of our purpose to inform the public on this critical issue.
We are now at a point of nearing completion of the project & require funds to help, promote & screen the film in various places in Manchester and throughout the country.
The film looks at homeless people's experiences and perspectives about their situation: what lead them there, whats going to help them gain a normal life, socio-economics, politics & everyday issues affecting them. Giving us an insight into life on the streets & their hopes for the future. We also feature outreach staff perspectives from Barnabus & Cornerstones, shelters that offer support for the homeless.

Our aim is to screen the film at a large events where interested & affected people, the public, politicians & contributors will be invited. We'll have a panel & public discussion. Also we would like to co-create many screenings around the UK.Most importantly we aim to show the film in schools to raise awareness to young people & they can be inspired to create solutions & run campaign using an Educational Toolkit.
Money will be spent on:
Organising the main screening & other events, room hire, speakers fees, Refreshments, Marketing & PR, Development of educational resources.
