I've raised £1500 to help Afghan refugees

- Have a fund ready to use when Afghan families arrive in our area: we can donate a lot of household items and clothes, but in our experience, it really helps to also be able to buy specific items that we British do not have in our homes (for example: items that better suited to different traditions, clothing, kitchenware, etc). We would also use that fund to help pay for refugees to pass the Highway theory test. Lastly, the money could go towards topping up for purchases such as tablets or phones or laptops where needed.
- If no families get resettled in the area at first, then we would donate the collected funds on to other selected charities directly helping refugees, whether they are in the UK or overseas.
