I've raised £600 to donate books to Dover secondary schools to educate and open discussions surrounding consent, sexism, misogyny and other related issues.

Change begins with Education.
Recent horrendous events involving violence against women led Books for Change to launch a fundraiser to get much needed books about consent, sexism, misogyny, feminism and other issues into Folkestone secondary schools.
As a History teacher in Dover I feel it is vital to get these books into secondary schools here as well. Many of my students (both female and male) have shared with me a passionate desire for change in the way women and girls are treated. We must ensure teenagers and young adults are encouraged to have discussions about how to keep everyone safe and to ensure all women and girls are treated equally and with respect. The perfect starting point for these discussions is through having access to books that deal specifically with these issues.
We are raising money to get these books into Astor Secondary School, Dover Grammar School for Boys, Dover Grammar School for Girls, Dover College, Dover Christ Church Academy and St Edmund's Catholic School.
Please donate if you can and share this fundraiser far and wide.
Thank you so much for your support.
