I've raised £4000 to help Downs & Special Friends group in Batley

On Sunday, 9th July Father and his 2 sons will be Running Leeds 10K for the very first time. Akhtar Kasia and 2 of his sons, Dr Aadilhussain Kasia and Fayaz Kasia will join thousands of other participants on the day.
Akhtar says, "He was truly inspired by Ismail Patel who has run few 10k runs. Even though Ismail suffers from an arteriovenous malformation on the brain, a very rare and life-threatening condition in a young man, he has been truly inspiration".
On July 9th, Akhtar and his sons will be supported by his family and members of Downs and Special Friends Group. Akhtar is a Vice Chair for this group which is based in Batley, and supports families with children with special needs throughout Kirklees.
In 2016 Akhtar took up a challenge to complete 5000 kilometers. He successfully completed that in 11 months.
Downs and Speical Friends runs various activities including Street Bikes, Day Outs, Swimming, Meet-ups and Parties.
With nearly 200 members in less than 2 years our group has grown from strength to strength. Managed and run by the parents of special neeeds children, Group supports families, their siblings and close relatives with support, guidance and other help.
Besides this groups is also active in raising profile and awareness and has been instrumental in removing stigma which is instilled within the South Asian communities through Schools, Radio, TV and Social Media platform.
Group members consists from all ethinicities and of all race and religion.

“I’d never thought I’d be walking outdoors with such fun especially going out in rain and minus temperature conditions,” said Ismail.
