    Story

With the closure of nearly half of all youth clubs and the rising cost of living, for families finding things for their children to turn their hand to can be very difficult, leaving some young people without anything to be a part of or put their talents to.

My aim is to raise £8,000 which will fund 10 London children to start or continue an non academic extra curricular activity for the year. Research suggests that parents spend on average £800 a year to allow their child to attend an after school group and with the rising cost of living many parents can not afford to sustain or start this!

Not only am I hoping to fund a child's interest and passion but there is a strong link between extra curricular activity and higher achievement overall for young people thus the aim is to raise aspirations for those children who will be funded. On the flip side, there is also a strong link between the lack of youth facilities (such as youth centres) and increase in youth violence/crime so your donations will be helping to stir children away from such paths.

I believe that it is vitally important that we are able to help our young people spend more time in constructive environments and less time in destructive environments and your donation will help to do this.

I have long term plans to continue to raise as much money as possible to sustain this initiative and to ensure children are funded for longer than a year but my first target is 10 children fully funded for one year!

Not matter how much is raised, the money will be used to allow how ever many children to have partial or full funding or an activity. I will take applications from parents and the money will be awarded to the most deserving on a case by case basis.

I truly believe that all children deserve to have opportunities to experience and take part in activities that they are passionate about. with your help, I want us to give as many children as possible, the chance to do this in 2017!
