🥃 Dram of Destiny – Help Us Make It Happen
Dram of Destiny began with a simple idea — and a stubborn sense that something needed putting right.
While hosting whisky masterclasses across the UK, one question kept coming up: who holds the world record for the largest in-person whisky tasting? The answer wasn’t Scotland. And for a country that gave whisky to the world, that never quite sat right.
So instead of waiting for the opportunity, we decided to create it.
On 30 January 2027, we aim to bring together 2,500 people at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh to attempt two Guinness World Records in one night — the largest Burns Supper ever held, and within it, the largest in-person whisky tasting. A celebration of Scottish heritage, culture, and community on a scale never seen before.
But this is about more than records.
Dram of Destiny is being delivered as a not-for-profit event, with all surplus funds going to the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, supporting vital research into Motor Neurone Disease.
We’ve already reached a major milestone, with over 1,000 people pre-registered, and we’ve secured exciting elements including a well-known Scottish actor as our Master of Ceremonies and a world-class headline act, both to be announced shortly.
💡 Why I Need Your Help
At this stage, we are building the event without an operational budget. I've personally spent circa £5K in getting to this stage but my business is a startup and doesn't have the funds.
Even when tickets go on sale, those funds are legally held in escrow until the event is delivered — meaning we can’t use them now to promote and grow the event.
To reach the next stage, we need to raise £10,000 to cover essential early costs such as:
Festival and event presence (including a branded gazebo)
Marketing materials and media content
Promotion to grow registrations and reach our 2,500 target
Early-stage operational setup

This funding doesn’t go towards profit — it goes towards making the event happen.
