    Story

This crowdfunding page has been created in the memory of Dr David Goodall. Instead of flowers we, his family, felt that donations would be preferable. We have chosen a cause that was always close to David's heart having spent 15 years as missionary doctor there. All donations will go to Khristiya Seva Niketan (Formerly Santhal Mission Hospital) in Sarenga, West Bengal, India. David spent many happy years as a doctor at this hospital. Your donation will go on to help fund a hospital that serves 300,000 poor people in West Bengal. His funeral will be held at Great Harwood Trinity Methodist Church, James St, Great Harwood BB6 7JE at 1.45pm on 6th October 2017.

Thank you alll for your amazing support , the money raised will be combined with donations received at the funeral to fund a project to help Sarenga hospital. An amount that is just over £4000. The money will be donated in person in October when a special Memorial Day for my dad is being organised by the hospital , which we hope to attend. Neil Goodall

Thanks to everyone who has supported this cause so far . The funds will be used to pay for vital equipment and ward renovations to serenga hospital which has been serving rural West Bengal since 1914. My dad worked at the mission hospital from 1967 to 1980.with many frequent visits since. It serves a rural poor community of 300,000 people with its 120 beds and operating theatre. Most rice farmers in the area make less than $2 a day so hospital plays a vital role in saving lives. Neil Goodall

I had the privilege of meeting David through his daughter Shona. He was such a humble man and it's doctors like him who make such a difference with their skills. A sad loss but remarkable legacy.

With best wishes from Joyce Hastings and her daughter, Christine, who knew him in Sarenga days. It was very sad to hear of his death but so good that you are raising money for KSN Sarenga Hospital.
