    Story

    Hi, My name is Dan,

I have always prided myself on been able to support my family, I was discharged from the army on medical grounds after getting an injury while serving. I had 10 operations on my shoulder and none will ever get my full use back, this I could live with and have worked many jobs in the last 10 years. I learnt to live with my disability and my limitation.

This was until 2 years ago I was told due to my time serving I had worn my knee caps down so much that I need a new knee, a new knee at 33 years old, but I don't tick the NHS boxes to get a new one. I have to wait until I'm 65, 3 operations down and I am back where I started. I currently have a mobility car but due to cut backs ill lose this come Aug 19. This is my only form of transport as I cant handle public transport due to depression/anxiety and PTSD. I wear a morphine pain patch 24/7 that takes the edge off and I suffer some side effect from it. I always push myself to far and I always try and help, but now i'm the one asking for help.

I have been told I may never be able to work again due to the combination of my mind and bodies failures, yet the Gov seem fit to say I can't get any benefits as I'm fit enough to work.

My wife has put up with a lot she works 48hrs a week just to pay the bills and we have slowly gained a small amount of debt during this as I cant find a job I can handle, due to the state of me.

This has been one of the hardest things for me to do, ask for HELP. its not like me and I wish I didn't have to. soon ill be with out a car and Still trying to pay off old debt.

Any thing you can give from£1 would help.

    I thank you

    King Regards

    Dan

I'm gutted that it's come to this. I want my (and your!) tax and nat insurance to pay for people with disabilities, not have people have to campaign for donations. I hope you get the support you need.

I went from running tough mudder and snowboarding to needing a crutch to walk down the road, wheel chair for long trips and 24/7 morphine patch to help with the pain, I'm not the type of person to ask for help but now I have no choice.
