Story

The Droxford Scarecrow festival not only raises a smile from villagers and visitors, it also addresses important local needs, blending fun and community spirit while addressing practical needs. By raising funds to contribute towards the repair of village footpaths, particularly the wonky flagstones by The Mill, you're ensuring that everyone can safely enjoy the stunning scenery and the chance to observe wildlife like kingfishers, herons, and swans. Lifting the flagstones and laying a new foundation before replacing them, will enhance the walking experience, making it safer and more pleasant for visitors and villagers alike. This initiative reflects the community's commitment to preserving the beauty of the area while ensuring it remains accessible for everyone. So our scarecrows will not only truly brighten the day, but they will make a real difference for local needs!
