Story
On Sunday 2nd April 2023, Veterinary Nurse Grainne Kelly, Student Nurse Emily McClelland and Veterinary Surgeon Grace O'Keeffe will be completing a Skydive to raise money for the Community Brain Injury Service based in Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry/Londonderry.
This is a charity very close to our hearts because in 2019 our Practice Manager, Katie, was involved in a serious road traffic accident. Katie suffered severe head injuries resulting in a life-changing Brain Injury. Katie had to undergo extensive rehabilitation including learning to walk again. The Community Brain Injury Service assisted with Katie's recovery and enabled her to get back to work. They installed specific apparatus in the clinic in order to facilitate Katie's needs and they have worked closely with Independent Vetcare to assist Katie every step of the way.
Katie is a brilliant Practice Manager. She adores animals, is great with people and she is so good to us all. We are very lucky to have her.
We would like to raise money for the CBIS for the amazing work that they do with Brain Injury patients and their families so that they can help more people through the hard times that we have seen.
