Story

DSA Scotland creates life changing experiences for people with dwarfism and their families. They are a self funding region and work hard creating a variety of sporting activities.
I am raising money for the Scottish region of the charity which I became a member of as my son was born with Achondroplasia (a form of dwarfism), the same as his father. Being a part of the DSA has helped our son to not only experience different sporting activities, but also to meet and socialise with other children and adults with the same condition.
The money raised will help to keep giving the members opportunities to experience sports that would otherwise be inaccessible to them as they would have to join others of standard height. This can be very daunting for someone with restricted growth, especially children. The funding helps to cover a lot of the costs involved in participating in sports, which is very helpful to those on a low income as without the support of the region, they may not have the finances to allow their children to experience the different sports.
So far the region has enjoyed Skiing in the highlands, Swimming, Archery, New Age Curling, Badminton, Horse Riding and we recently had the chance to experience a new sport of Caged Cricket.

Our next fundraising event will be on the 21st September 2019 in which myself and a group of some of the mums from the region are going to do the 3 Peaks Challenge. This involves climbing Ben Nevis (4,409ft), Scaffell Pike (3,209ft) and Snowdon (3,560ft) in 36 hours.
We hope that you will support us in our journey and wish you all good health.
