I'm raising £5280 to avert a Christmas Eve crisis as nativity animals need a Christmas miracle by Christmas Eve

Story

We are raising money to help prevent the forced removal of four much-loved equines, Harry, Katie, Enzo and Morris, after an emergency court injunction has ordered that they be rehomed or relocated to a new stable area by 4pm on 24 December.

The animals, affectionately referred to by regular visitors as Duckling Barn’s very own “Nativity cast,” must be moved due to the proximity of their current yard to the neighbouring boundary. Despite being well cared for, with regular welfare guidance from The Donkey Sanctuary, the court has ruled that the donkeys and Shetlands must be relocated along with the removal and sanitisation of the top 10cm of soil currently beneath them.

Duckling Barn is currently awaiting planning permission to build a compliant shelter and hard-standing area 70 metres away in the upper field. However, with the decision still weeks away and winter ground conditions making construction challenging, urgent support is now essential. Without it, the animals may have to be rehomed permanently, a heartbreaking prospect for the family who have worked to rehabilitate them.

Harry, Katie, Enzo & Morris have been talking to the elves and they want to be in on the action, they want to offer rewards so that they can meet the incredible people that are enabling them to have a new home, here at Duckling Barn.

Choose a donation amount and the reward you'd like and email angharad@thepreservationsociety.co.uk with your name, contact details and who it is for and we will email you a voucher. Once the build is completed and the land has settled, we'll start booking in dates.

We will be mounting a plaque to go on the Field Shelter naming everybody that has donated to help this urgent cause.
