Story
Dudley, a 23 month old white and black newfoundland boy, was born with various health issues, which became apparent very early on. He is suffering from elbow displaysia in both elbows and also a heart defect. All can be corrected with surgery. Unfortunately Dudley's insurance only covered the diagnoses, and his breeder refused to help. His owner has tried various ways to raise money but has suffered knockbacks each time. Her care for him can only be applauded and because of her perseverance I have felt so strongly about helping her. Neither Dudley nor his owner have done anything wrong. The operations on his elbows are the more urgent, as his quality of life is suffering due to pain. His heart is strong enough to cope with these operations, and can be corrected later. The Southern Newfoundland Club, whilst not paying for his treatment out of club funds, is fully behind the fund raising to treat this lovely boy. His treatment is starting shortly, as a club member has underwritten the initial payment, but it is essential that we, Newfoundland lovers, cover this and the rest of his procedures. There are so many of us that a small donation from each of us would quickly cover this. Imagine if this were your dog and you were unable to fund this operation yourself and your insurer refused to help further. Please let us 'fix Dudley'. We start this fund in Dudley's name, but should we end up with a surplus, the fund will continue and will remain in place in case this situation ever occurs again.
