Story

We need your help to keep a small local business afloat and their horses alive!

Many of you will know Dulwich Riding School as a local riding school who offers great lessons to children and adults alike, many of you may also know that they care hugely for the welfare of their ponies/horses, staff and of course their riders.

Dulwich Riding School is a family run business that has been part of Dulwich since 1961. The stables homes just under 20 horses and employ 20 staff which includes working pupils from the local area.

Everyone is struggling at the moment, and there has been very little government help for stables, so this is where the community comes in - we need your help!

Jaye, the owner of Dulwich Riding School, is proud and stoic and doing the best she can. She has asked regular riders to top up their credit accounts for future lessons and welcomed donations of carrots for the horses, but this crisis has gone on for too long and her running costs remain the same as always but with no income as a result of Covid restrictions. So if we don’t want to see yet another local business shut its doors, we have to act NOW.

The stables have nowhere else for the horses to go, animal welfare shelters are full and Jaye cannot even begin to imagine what would happen to her horses should they need to close.

I learned to ride at Dulwich Riding School and my kids are now learning to ride there, so in a desperate attempt to help, I suggested we reach out to the community for help. Any donation will be greatly appreciated.

Should our crowd funding initiative be wildly successful, then any cash raised that is not needed for keeping DRS afloat will go to helping other riding schools.
