Story
For over 30 years Dunbar has had a dazzling display of Christmas lights which are a source of pride for everyone in the town and which attract many visitors.r lights are maintained and developed by a small team of volunteers. On put up, switch on and take down days we get great support from the RNLI, local fire brigade and friends and family. We are currently busy with a programme of renewing all the signs, cabling and distribution boxes with the aim of making them more energy efficient and reliable.
On the last Sunday in November we stage a community event with music, dancers, market stalls, santa grotto, DJ and fairground rides. This culminates with a local celebrity or group turning the lights on.
As with everything costs only ever go in one direction! The majority of our signs are sponsored by local businesses; the committee stage fund raising events through the year and we have collecting tins in many local businesses. We've set up this page to allow anyone who appreciates Dunbar's lights to make a donation which will be hugely appreciated.
Many thanks.
