I'm raising £10000 to 200 Miles of Morris – Duncan's Guinness World Record Challenge

Organised by Duncan Bhaskaran Brown
Local community

Story

Duncan already holds a Guinness World Record for the longest individual Morris dancing marathon — and now he's going even further.

Starting at Hampton Court Palace on Sunday 10th May 2026, Duncan will dance the entire Thames Path from London to Abingdon and back — covering over 200 miles in just seven days. He'll pass through Windsor, Maidenhead, Marlow, Henley, Reading and Abingdon before finishing with a massed dance on Trafalgar Square on 17th May.

The current world record stands at 146 miles. Duncan is aiming to smash it.

He won't be alone — Morris sides from across the Thames Valley and beyond will be joining him along the way, celebrating one of England's oldest folk traditions with every step.

Why I'm fundraising:

Every mile is in aid of the Rowan Trust, an Abingdon-based charity that supports people experiencing mental health difficulties. They run events and sessions that help people feel less isolated and more connected — vital, community-level support that makes a real difference to local lives.

Mental health affects one in four of us. Please give what you can.

Suggested donation amounts:

£5 – A warm thank you from Duncan

£10 – Sponsors one mile of dancing

£25 – Keeps the bells and ribbons going

£50 – Supports a Morris side for the day

£100 – Sponsors a full day on the Thames Path

Evening Performances — Come and See the Magic

Each evening along the route, Duncan will be performing at a local venue (with a lot of help form local morris sides) — and you're warmly invited to come along, cheer him on, and experience morris dancing up close. These are free, lively community events; all that's required is your presence and your enthusiasm. Bring friends. Bring family. Bring anyone who needs a bit of joy in their life.
