Waterhead in Oldham has one of the lowest income per capita in the country and the use of foodbanks has risen massively in the past few years. Local organisations and churches such as Holy Trinity Waterhead and its sister church St Barnabas provide facilities to collect food for needy local families and to fund services such as weekly breakfast clubs. Unfortunately the demand for help far exceeds their capacity to provide it. Carl has suffered from agoraphobia for many years and wants to challenge this by doing a sponsored walk to raise funds to directly support these efforts.
