I've raised £7000 to FASD Aware NI, a small charity in Northern Ireland that provides support and awareness of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder

Duncan: I am a recovering alcoholic and have just celebrated 4 years of sobriety. Having been given a second chance at life I want to give something back. In 2015 I mountain biked across the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors and raised just under £7000 for the rehab unit that helped to save me from addiction. This year I will be on the road, mountain and moors to raise money for the incredible charity that is FASD Aware NI. Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) are a series of disorders that affect babies when they are exposed to alcohol during pregnancy including brain damage.
We will be completing a two day triathlon running, mountain biking and kayaking across Scotland. With my wife (in a powered vehicle) and Michelle's sister running the support team, we aim to raise as much money and awareness as possible for this small charity.
Michelle: So... I'm not doing this because I love endurance events (I don't!!), I'm doing this because when you see a friend go through the toughest time in their life, and work their backsides off to come through the other side, they inspire you to help them celebrate having a second change at life, and using that chance to give back and support other people who also suffer.
I'm blown away by how long and hard Duncan has worked at his recovery and also how it's a constant journey. I want to support this amazing charity on behalf of Duncan and all those that need help and to protect and support their little ones.
The funds will be used for the following:
To help families affect by FASD to get the right diagnose and support.
To help run support groups for the children and families affected by FASD.
To help with the creation of Youth Gaming Groups for children affected by FASD.
To help us change the NHS guidelines to include the dangers of alcohol consumption during pregnancy.
Please share and help if you are able.
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to our main sponsors without whose help we would not be able to fund this little expedition:
Puddleducks Nursery, Munsons Opticians, The Hair Gallery and Hire a Hymer
