The Football Competition
Over the past few years Avison Young have been running a charity five-a-side competition, and now Covid restrictions have been lifted, we are keen to host the event again this year - though under a slightly different guise than in previous years.
In 2020, during the height of the lockdown, one of our close colleagues Duncan Wright tragically passed away. In spite of having a rare heart condition, Duncan was a key part of Avison Young and one of our star players in the previous fives competitions. Therefore, it is only fitting to get the event back on and dedicate it to Duncan moving forward.
2022 will be our fifth year running this friendly five-a-side competition, and Avison Young's fortunes have varied over the past four tournaments, from last to second (twice) - so maybe this could be our year! Of course, if you enter a team, if could be your year - the first ever team to win the inaugural Duncan Wright Memorial Cup.
When: Afternoon of Friday 9 September.
Where: World of Football, Edinburgh Corn Exchange, 10 Newmarket Road, EH12 1RJ
We have chosen to fundraise for Ronald McDonald House, who provide support and accommodation to family members whose children are receiving treatment in hospital. This is the charity that was chosen by Duncan's family to receive the benefit of fundraising in the memory of our former colleague and friend.
