Story
In a week that seen many positive comments from the players, coaches and staff of Dundee United Football Club about the support they have been receiving home and away there is little doubt the Display Team took the support to a new level at Friday night’s derby.
The display was absolutely Shedtastic; the pulley banner in the shed is the first in Scotland and possibly the first in the U.K. How about the “We Own the City” banner in the Eddie Thomson stand, what a statement that was!
BT Sport who covered the derby on Friday must have been really pleased they had selected this game for their audience, where else would they have seen such a display? The hard work put in by the display team shows what the Top Tier in Scottish football has been missing and will hopefully experience in season 2020/21,
The reliance on pin badge sales and the odd fans group donation is not enough to help us maintain the standards we have set. We are asking you to consider contributing to our fundraising campaign to give us funds to be more flexible in our dealings with suppliers and to meet our ever-increasing costs. A recent quote to provide a secure and safe storage facility for the banners and flags was £2k, and that was from a supplier who is a well-known Arab.
This is an opportunity for all Arabs, home and abroad to show their support.
If you have enjoyed the displays either in Tannadice or at home watching the game on TV then please consider donating to our cause. The cost of a cup of coffee or maybe a virtual ‘Happy New Year” pint? Every donation will make a difference.
Thank you for reading our fundraising page.
