Story

Freddie is an 8 year old cheeky chap who wants to be just like his friends and siblings.

Freddie attends The Prince of Wales school in Dorchester.

At the age of 10 months Freddie was not meeting milestones so had an MRI which at 13 months confirmed Cerebral Palsy in all 4 limbs.

So now various therapies began physio, occupational therapy, speech therapy to name but a few.

At age two and a half to three years he bagan to commando crawl (something physios were not sure he would do)

Freddie went in to mainstream playgroup where he excelled and loved being around other children his own age.

Freddie then joined The Prince Of Wales school where he has gone from strength to strength with the AMAZING help and support he has received from staff and children alike.

Freddie has been having Botox since the age of 2 to help relax his tight muscles (Freddie responds very well to this 😊)

Freddie didn’t really speak until the age of 5, but boy he’s made up for it in the last 3 years!! Anyone who knows Freddie knows what a complete chatterbox he is 😂😂

It was made apparent early on that Freddie would potentially need surgery 😢 to date he’s had numerous surgical intervention including a full hip reconstruction in January 2016 (meaning both legs needed to be broken to pin the ball and socket joint together) which was extremely tough going!! Long recovery time.

He has since had the metal pins removed and already it has been said that at a later date this surgery may need to be repeated 😢

Freddie recently had some more surgery involving having his hamstrings lengthened which so far is working incredibly well 😊

Freddie has various pieces of equipment including a walker, stander, trike to name but a few.

Above all of this that Freddie goes through he is the happiest little boy you could meet!!! Throughout it all he never complains about it and just gets in with it!!

Freddie is actually a real life super hero in every sense of the word.

Freddie LOVES football! Ask anyone who knows him, there is nothing he doesn’t know about football, his favourite team being Tottenham Hotspur.

Freddie has taken part in power chair football which he loves and once he gets stronger can hopefully participate in some frame football (football in his walker).

To have a piece of kit like this for Freddie would mean the world to him as he would be exactly the same as everyone else!

No one knows if he will walk but he will sure as hell give it a mighty good go!!

So much so the other day after school he told me they had been talking about ‘wishes’ at school and he said ‘mummy my wish I said was that I want to walk by myself’

Such an incredible young man who I’m so proud to be able to call my son 💙- from Freddies mum

My daughter Ziva goes to school with Freddie and would like to help him to get the bike he needs ( the one he is trying out in the photo)The special built bike Freddie needs will cost over a thousand pounds so we are hoping to help get things started with raising enough money for the deposit!
