Story

Earls Barton Skate Park

The Earls Barton Skate Park Project working group are raising money to improve the existing skate facilities in the village. The existing ramps in the village are becoming past repair and a hazard to the community with splitting wood and raised metal edges, repair costs are becoming a frequent issue.

The ramps are used on a daily basis by all ages and abilities from 2-32 and they can no longer sustain the level of use.

To allow for the diversity of the riders the design needs modernising to ensure all need are met in a safe manner, which means a slight increase in width of the existing plot.

As a local mother I saw this was something that was letting out community down, and wanted to help get the youths something to be proud of, and to get them outside enjoying life.

The project aims to achieve the following:

Providing a programme of affordable, accessible, structured activities for local children and young people Improving sports facilities in the local area by providing a new, high quality community resource

The money will go towards the overall goal of £150,000, which we hope will be achieved through local fund raising, grant applications and match funding as well as any donations. This money will then be used to design and build the new Skate Park. for more information please go to The Earls Barton Skate Park Page
