I've raised £50 to Help get the funds to make meals for local homeless people weekly.

as I walked down north London this evening, on route to go and get dinner and go to the arcade. The sheer amount of homeless people I saw was revolting. The weather was disgusting and they hardly had any change in their little make shift pots. I stressed how sorry I felt for them to my partner which them which is when my partner suggested making food for them and handing it out, and it clicked. That's what I was going to do.
it's such a good idea, i mean the reason most people don't give homeless people change or money is because the same reason as most. We are scared thrill abuse the money and use it on drugs or drink. Which unfourtuantly is what some do. So it makes us have trust issues - again totally using others people's choices against every homeless person. Which is upsetting because they people actually desperate for food then get no money?!
although I realize we can't change people's mind and prove some of the homeless people will buy food. We can make sure at least they are getting the food we provide. My aim is to make meals each week. From simple dishes like pasta bake, to chicken and rice etc. I'm going to bulk make and package them up into containers and hand them out in my local area.
just the sheer appreciation will be overwelmin, I can never imagine have to beg for food to stay alive. So if I can stop them doing that just once a week, I shall.
The funds made will be going towards ingredients foor each meal, disposable cutlery and plastic containers to hand out.
