Weʼve raised £10,351 to help feed poverty stricken families across Merseyside this Christmas. Everyone deserves a hot meal this Christmas.

    Story

This Christmas, thousands of families across Merseyside will go hungry. Some of these families won't even have the funds to turn on the oven, never mind enjoy a Christmas dinner with their loved ones.

This is the sad reality of a food poverty crisis across Merseyside that we at the Liverpool Echo have been leading the fight against, with our partners at Can Cook. The #ShareYourLunch campaign sees an army of chefs and volunteers at Can Cook, able to provide freshly prepared, chilled meals and deliver them direct to the door of struggling, Liverpool families.

The #ShareYourLunch effort is already underway thanks to early donations received, but in order to extend this to hungry families at Christmas, we need to raise additional funds via this appeal.

The campaign not only helps families in desperate need - it puts Liverpool at the forefront in taking action against food poverty and setting an example for the rest of the UK to follow.

Now YOU can help directly by donating to the cause….

We can provide Christmas dinner for 4 for around £10 – so £10 feeds a family of four, £50 feeds five families, £100 feeds 10 families and so on. The more we raise together - the more mouths we can feed this Christmas, please give what you can as every little helps.
