Story
Asalaamu alaykum wa RahmatuLlahi wa Barakaatuhu.
May the peace, mercy and blessings of God Almighty be upon you.
AlhumdiliLlah, by the Grace and Blessings of Allah we have managed to secure a building for the long term future of the Masjid in St Mellons and East Cardiff.
After months of searching and negotiation, we have finally had an offer to purchase the old St Mellons police station approved, but this is where the hard work really begins. The agreed price is £185,000.
We must raise the funds immediately in order to complete the purchase before the end of January 2019. The building requires major renovation to make it suitable for use as a masjid so at least £250,000 needs to be raised. This all needs to be done as soon as possible as the license to occupy our current premises expires at the end of January 2019 due to repossession for a local social housing project.
What do we require from you?
*1* Du'aa. Without the help of Allah nothing is possible. So please ask Allah to make this project a resounding success, a place of blessings, a place where our children can learn about our beautiful way of life, and a place that can benefit the whole community.
*2* To dig deep and donate directly to this incredibly worthwhile and rewarding project.
Uthman ibn Affan reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, then Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.”
*3* To come forward and pledge that you will commit to raise a significant sum (£2k,/£5k /£10k etc) towards the project by asking family, friends and colleagues to donate.
Abu Mas’ud reported: A man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said, “My animal has died, so help me.” The Prophet said, “I do not have anything.” Another man said, “O Messenger of Allah, I can show him someone who can help him.” The Prophet said, “Whoever guides someone to goodness will have a similar reward.”
