Story
What an evening! Thanks to all the team for putting on a wonderful show for us. Great enthusiasm, friendliness, cheerfulness and above all really good music.
Following highly successful tours to the Highlands in the last two years, we're raising funds to help take Edinburgh College music students on a five-day, four-concert tour in the south of Scotland. Communities in Lockerbie, Dumfries, Annan and Moffat will hear our choirs, concert band, traditional music band and many other ensembles. We'll offer inspiring musical experiences to our audiences, and visit schools to give insights into college life in general and studying music in particular.
Performance is at the heart of what we do in music at Edinburgh College. It is the biggest reason most of our students decide to come to study with us, and it’s a major strength in all of our programmes.
We’re immensely proud of our students’ achievements in music performance and feel, for all sorts of reasons, that they should be given the opportunity to showcase these to a wider audience.
We want to offer the chance to tour to all our students, regardless of their financial circumstances. The costs of accommodation and coach travel for fifty students and accompanying staff are considerable – beyond the scope of our normal departmental budget – so we are asking for your support to help fund this important work.
Any contribution from you or your organisation would be hugely appreciated. We would love to welcome you to any of our Edinburgh events, and we would of course add you or your organisation’s name or advertisement to all concert programmes, and other materials (posters, websites, clothing) if you wished. In some cases, we might even be able to provide a concert in a venue of your choice, as a thank you for your support.
Going forward we are still hunting for a long-term sponsor, so if you have any ideas on that front we would be really grateful to hear them!
Many thanks to you all.
