Story

Police officers from Feltham have been working hard with a local youth group in Hanworth called 'Rise and Thrive' who provide a safe space for young people, mentoring them, and help divert them from crime. All of this amazing work done by the youth workers is done for free in their own time. They all manage their own jobs and family lives yet find the time to help their community so we want to support them as best we can.

In 2022 the officers swapped their Feltham beat for rugged mountain paths hiking the Three Peaks, namely Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon to fund raise for the group and earlier this year tested their muscles by pushing a fully marked Police carrier a distance of 10km around Brentford FC's GTech Stadium.

This August the officers are aiming to complete the Brecon Beacons 10 peaks challenge in under 24 hours. The hike is 34 km long, undertaken in one long hike. No stopping for lunch, or afternoon nap, rain or shine the hike will be completed. Within the 34km walk there is also just under 2km of ascent so no simple stroll along flat paths here for the officers. The officers aim to complete within 18 hours.

So please dig deep and send a few pennies or pounds our way so we can pass it onto the group so their incredible work and joint Police and community partnership work can continue to reap rewards

We have attached some pictures of the previous challenges for your information.
